Cattle ranchers and sheep and wool producers from throughout Utah will meet for their yearly conventions at the Salt Lake City Marriott Hotel in December.

The Utah Wool Growers Association will hold its annual convention Dec. 4-6 and the Utah Cattlemen's Association will meet Dec. 5-7 at the Marriott. Most of the activities of the two organizations will be held jointly.One of the highlights of the Utah Cattlemen's Association convention will be the All Breeds Bull Show and Sale Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Utah State Fairpark.

Joint committee meetings of the two farm groups will be held Thursday, Dec. 6, and will include discussions of animal damage control, animal health and research, marketing, grading, inspection and foreign trade.

Other topics on the agenda are private lands, water, labor, big game, brands and theft, transportation, taxation and agricultural finance.

Wayne Hage, an expert on federal land issues, will speak Thursday.

On Friday, Dec. 7, Utah Gov. Norm Bangerter will speak at 9 a.m.
