A Murray man was in critical and unstable condition Friday night following an auto-pedestrian accident Thursday evening at 4970 S. 900 East.

William J. Ferrebee, 39, who was in a University Hospital intensive care, was injured about 6 p.m. when he was trying to run across 900 East and was hit by a southbound vehicle driven by Steven Clark, 23, also of Murray."There was a lack of lighting in that particular area, which was a contributing factor to the accident," said Salt Lake County deputy sheriff Kent Harrison.

Ferrebee was taken by helicopter to University Hospital. A nursing supervisor said Thursday night that the victim suffered multiple fractures.
