Drug charges filed Thursday in the 4th Circuit Court are the culmination of a multiple-agency sting operation and alert residents, Police Chief Michael Ferre says.
Pleasant Grove police arrested three adult males and one adult female earlier this week after neighbors reported a steady stream of visitors to a home at 622 E. 100 South. Pleasant Grove Police and the Utah County Drug Task Force searched the home Tuesday night and seized a substantial amount of marijuana, a small amount of amphetamines and several hundred dollars alleged to be drug money.Alfred Bud Miller, 22, is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, a second-degree felony; and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor. He was released on his own recognizance.
Police also arrested Gilberto Maciel Sedano, 27, and Alvaro Bisarro Gonzales, 28. Sedano is charged with possession of controlled substances within 1,000 feet of a school, an illegal-drug-stamp tax violation and possession of controlled substances, all third-degree felonies.
Gonzales is charged with possession of drugs within 1,000 feet of a school and a drug-stamp tax violation. Bail was set for Sedano and Gonzales at $10,000 each.
The fourth defendant, Shanna L. Gonzales, 26, is charged with possession of drugs within 1,000 feet of a school and an illegal-drug-stamp tax violation.
A preliminary hearing for the suspects is set for Thursday, Nov. 15, in the 4th Circuit Court in American Fork.
