The overwhelming depth of BYU's women's swim team swamped the University of New Mexico 135 to 79 in a dual meet Friday afternoon in Albuquerque.

Cougar All-American K.C. Cline was a triple winner by placing first in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:06.74, and by swimming the first leg on both the winning 200 medley relay team and the fastest 400 free relay team, designated an exhibition race because the points were so heavily tilted in BYU's favor. Two BYU rookies each picked up two first places. Jill Teeples won both the 200 individual medley (2:12.12) and the 500 free (5:11.19), and Vanessa Bergman topped all divers on the 1-meter board (257.85) and then the 3-meters (286.35) in a shortened diving program.
