Utah gets 20 new residents20 desert bighorn sheep were released last week in the Dolores Triangle area in Westwater Canyon on the Colorado River.Nevada trapped surplus sheep from an area near Boulder City, using helicopters and net guns. The DWR trucked the animals - four rams, 12 ewes and four lambs - to an area near Cisco. The sheep were then placed in restraining bags and carried to special boats supplied by the Colorado agency. The sheep were then transported five miles up-river to Star Canyon where they were released. The area is a rugged and rocky, ideal for sheep. Releases have also been made in Ruby Canyon and along the Delores River.
