Ruth Monsen Jones, age 90, passed away November 4, 1990 at her son's home in Magna.
Born September 6, 1900 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah; to James and Mary Ann Poulsen Monsen. Married John William Jones December 17, 1924 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he preceded in death on May 19, 1973. First graduating class of North Sanpete High School in 1918. Member of the LDS Chruch, fullfilled a Western State Mission, YWMIA Stake President North Sanpete Stake for 16 years, Relief Society President, teacher in all auxiliaries. Curator at the Mt. Pleasnat Pioneer Museum, where she met people from many countires and all parts of the United States). Active member of Acme Literay Club, member of DUP, Stake Missionary. "During her lifetime she touched the hearts of many through love and service, showing her love for the Savior. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.Survived by two sons and three daughtres, John B., West Valley; J. Neil, Magna; Audrey A., Aurora, Colorado; Renee J. Gassman, Orem; Paula J. Whyte, Salt Lake City; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 9, 1990 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant 4th LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Ursenbach Funeral Home, Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services. Burial in the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery.
