Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Elda Lillian Ririe Manning, 93, passed away November 4, 1990 at the home of her daughter in Richfield.

Born January 6, 1897 in Eden, Utah, a daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth Jane McBride Ririe. She attended school in Eden and graduated from Weber Academy in Ogden. Married William Hart Manning, May 24, 1916, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 10, 1967. In 1924 she moved with her husband to Cedar City, where he became head of the music department at Branch Agricultural College. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she taught in all the auxiliary organizations. She served as a ward and stake Relief Society president. Ward Young Women's president. Ward Primary president. With her husband she served an LDS Mission to Germany and later they served in the Indian Branch in Cedar City. Member, Cedar City Second Ward.Survived by six children and their spouses, George and Ione S. Manning, Las Vegas; William and Marilyn T. Manning, Novato, California; Louise and LaMont L. Bennett, Richfield; Elizabeth and Willard B. Call, Salinas, California; John and Coy C. Manning, Smithfield; Mary and Grant W. Mortensen, Canoga Park, California; daughter-in-law, Olga B. Manning, Salt Lake City; 33 grandchildren, 102 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Floyd H. Ririe; sisters, Mrs. Wilburn C. (Zelma) West, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Wallace J. (Lois) Montague, Billings, Montana. Preceded in death by two children, Douglas W. Manning, Margaret M. Webster.

Funeral services Friday, November 9, 1 p.m., Cedar City Second LDS Ward Chapel, 212 West 200 South, Cedar City. Friends may call Thursday evening, 7-9 p.m., Southern Utah Mortuary, and again on Friday, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Burial: Cedar City Cemetery under the direction of the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary of Richfield.
