The theme of the YWCA's Noontime Network for December will be "feminist spirituality." The free brown bag series is held every Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at 322 E. 300 South.
Writer Emma Lou Thayne will discuss building global bridges on Dec. 6. Thayne was a delegate to the Test Ban Treaty Conference in the Soviet Union, is an internationally published poet and the only woman on the Deseret News board of directors.Betty Windy Boy, executive director of the Indian Center Employment Services, will talk about how she found a spiritual home and direction from Ickouene Kiouffa, 16th century hunting woman who refused to follow the usual marriage and family patterns.
Sister Jo Marie Arrendondo, director of Hispanic Affairs for the Catholic Diocese, will talk about the moments of strength she's found in 40 years of religious service on Dec. 20. Her greatest times of spiritual growth, she said, have come through suffering.
