With three weeks remaining before the Davis Cup final, Michael Chang has sent Australia a powerful warning as it prepares for its battle against the United States.
Chang overwhelmed Mark Kratzmann 6-0, 6-0 in a 40-minute display of power and quickness Tuesday that left the unnerved Australian tossing his racket in the air at a lob.Chang said he hoped his first shutout as a professional would make an impression on Kratzmann and the two other members of the Australian Davis Cup squad playing in the Wembley tournament.
"It would be nice if they'd pop it in their minds or something, but it wasn't my intention," he said.
Fifth-seeded Aaron Krickstein and No. 8 Scott Davis also advanced to the second round.
