School doors throughout the Provo School District will open Aug. 22 to begin the 1988-89 school year, and now is the time to register.
Pre-registration for all kindergarten through sixth-grade students new to Provo, and those not previously registered, will be Aug. 17-19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at each elementary school.Secondary school students may register at their schools any time between now and the beginning of school.
Dental and physical examinations are required for all students entering kindergarten and those new to the district, and are recommended for students entering grades four and seven.
Parents who are registering kindergarten children must bring a birth certificate certifying the child will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, a record of immunizations and a certificate or statement indicating that the student has received vision screening to detect amblyopia.
Meetings will be scheduled from Aug. 22-26 for kindergarten children and their parents. Regular class for kindergarteners begins Aug. 29.
All elementary school children living in BYU Wyview Park will register at Edgemont Elementary School. Children in grades nine through 12 should register at Timpview High School.
Children living at Wymount Terrace complexes 1 to 7 will register at Wasatch Elementary. Those living in complexes 8 to 15 will register at Rock Canyon Elementary. Seventh- and eighth-grade students will attend Dixon Middle School and ninth- through 12th-graders will attend Provo High School.
