Maria Anna Catherina Jongejan DeMann, age 83, passed away November 4, 1990 Murray, Utah of a lingering illness.
Born October 10, 1907, Rotterdam, The Netherlands to Gerrit A. and Alida Koldenhof Jongejan. Married Jacobus Marinus DeMann, March 1, 1928, Salt Lake City; marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, November 17, 1955. He died September 7, 1982. She owned Continental Bank Coffee Shop for many years. Managed Cafeteria for Continental Bank for about 10 years. Active member Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sunday School teacher for 24 years, 12 years in the 15th Ward in Salt Lake, 12 years in the Murray 11th Ward. Also a budget worker in both Ward. Came to Salt Lake City from The Netherlands on May 29, 1916. Lived in Murray since 1960.Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Elsa DeMann, Murray; four grandsons and grand-daughters-in-law, Bryan and Pam, Alan and Wini, Dwight and Wendy, Quinton (Mogie) and Karen, all Murray; 14 great-grandchildren; another grandson, Clayton passed away December 16, 1978.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 1990, 2 p.m. Murray 11th Ward, 5750 South Nena Way. Friends may call Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the Church one hour prior to services. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
