A 17-year-old Provoan and his 15-year-old passenger remain hospitalized at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for injuries incurred in a head-on collision with a Provo police vehicle early Sunday morning.
Scott Burke, the driver of a 1982 maroon Ford Mustang that collided with the police vehicle driven by officer Skylar Dimick, is in serious condition at UVRMC's Intermediate Medical Care Unit. Burke's passenger, Danielle Train, Provo, is in critical condition at the hospital's Coronary Care Unit.The case is still under investigation by Utah Highway Patrol officials, who said Dimick was responding to a call for assistance at Utah Lake and was driving at approximately 60 mph without emergency lights, spotlights or sirens when his vehicle collided with the Mustang at approximately 1700 W. Center.
Dimick, 31, suffered facial cuts, while his passenger, Judy Davis, a dispatch training officer, suffered a broken arm in the accident. Both Dimick and Davis were also taken to UVRMC and were released after treatment.
