Richard Mouritsen of Grantsville was one of eight contestants who picked 11 games correctly (all missed the USC-California tie) in last week's Deseret News Grid Picks contest. He's the $100 weekly winner because of his tiebreaker score. He picked San Diego State to defeat Utah, 56-21.

The other seven who picked 11 games were: Clyde Hardy, Sandy; Robert Palmer, Farmington; Steven Clark, Salt Lake; W.M. Bitters, Orem; David Wood, Bountiful; Nelden Maxfield, Centerville; and Gerald Owen, West Jordan. The other runners-up, who picked 10 games correctly and were selected because of their tiebreaker scores, were: David Goldhardt, Riverton; Brent Osborne, Salt Lake; and Jimmy Bradshaw, Bennion. The runners-up receive Deseret News "Sports Page" T-shirts.Mouritsen, in addition to winning the $100 weekly prize, becomes eligible for the Grand Picks grand prize - a chance at $25,000. The money will be awarded to a weekly winner if that person correctly picks the halftime and final scores of the BYU-Utah game on Nov. 17.
