Natural snowfall and some of the man-made stuff will allow the Park City Ski Area to open three of its runs Tuesday, officials said Monday.
Because the opening of the Three Kings Lift also falls on Election Day, Park City president and general manager Phil Jones urged skiers "to get out and vote before they come skiing.""Being able to open this early in the season is a direct result of our improved snowmaking system. We are making snow around the clock and will continue to open more skiing terrain as conditions warrant," Jones said.
The ski area's snowmaking equipment covers 350 acres of runs. Park City has been making snow since Nov. 2.
The Three Kings Lift will be in operation from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, Jones said. The Park City Ski School and base cafeteria also will be open.
The general opening for all Park City lifts and runs is scheduled for Nov. 16.
