Utah County deputies and state officials don't know yet what caused the death of a man found in a grave south of Fairfield on Saturday, but they are treating it as a homicide.

According to a sheriff's department report, a body was discovered by three hunters west of Allen's Ranch Road Saturday evening. Those hunters contacted sheriff's officials at approximately 5:30 p.m., and crews were on the scene by 6:30 p.m.Investigators don't know who the man was, but they say he was fully clothed and between 6 feet and 6 feet 3 inches tall. Investigators say the body had evidently been in the grave less than a year.

The body was transported to the state medical examiner's office to determine the identity and cause of death.
