High school seniors looking for ways to help finance their college engineering education can apply to the Utah Society of Professional Engineers for one of 200 scholarships and grants available from the National Society of Professional Engineers.

Applications are available from high school counselors between now and Nov. 15 and must be submitted by Dec. 3. More information can be obtained by calling Vern Wilde at 967-6088.Applicants are judged from national standard test scores, essays, transcripts and extracurricular activities. Scholarships are available for specific colleges of engineering, and NSPE offers separate scholarships in each of its six geographic regions in addition to memorial and minority grants.

In the current school year, NSPE will award scholarships and grants ranging from $1,000 for one year to full tuition for four years. The NSPE Education Foundation raises funds from engineering schools, NSPE auxiliaries and individual donors.
