Jerry Sherman Young, 56, passed away October 30, 1990 in Safford, Arizona unexpectedly of a heart attack.
Born January 8, 1934 in Price, Utah to Sidney C. and Maida Meldrum Young. Grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. Married Lora Lee Brown, June 21, 1961 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a real estate broker and owner of Jerry Young Realtors. Member of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors and served as vice president, real estate developer. Graduate of BYU and was an avid cougar fan. Attended U of U graduate school. Member of the LDS Church; served a LDS mission to South Africa; also served as stake mission president, stake athletic direction, three bishoprics and other capacities.He is survived by his wife Lora Lee, children Jerry Scott, Chad Brown and his wife Holly, Shauna, Candace, all Salt Lake City; brothers, Meldrum, Houston, Texas; Kay, Orem, Utah; Grant, Rigby, Idaho; and David, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 1990 at 10 a.m. at the Wasatch 6th LDS Ward 8100 So. Top of the World Drive (3670 East). Friends may call Friday, 7-9 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Blvd.) and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates. In lieu of lowers family request donations to the General Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
