Republicans for Orton is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for the theft of seven campaign signs.

The group said that 4-by-8-foot signs in seven locations were stolen, including two that were illuminated at night."The vandals cut the electrical cords and took the light fixtures," said George Murdock, spokesman for the group.

"This is not only against the law, but it violates our rights of free speech. Of greatest concern to us is that this type of lawlessness and attempted intimidation undermines the democratic process."

The incidents have been reported to law enforcement agencies. Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact the police department.
