A physician at the Tooele Valley Regional Medical Center has been accused of abusing drugs and faces sanctions against his licenses to practice and prescribe medicine, licensing officials said.

Dr. Wesley K. Sullivan first denied, then later admitted to licensing investigators that he had illegally obtained and self-administered Demoral for several years, a petition issued by the state Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing said.Wesley was hired at the medical center last June. A month later, he agreed to undergo drug counseling and therapy and submit to random urine and blood testing, the petition said.

Since undergoing treatment, the petition said, Wesley tested positive for Morphine and Demoral, which he obtained without a prescription.
