Thousands of Vietnamese in former East Germany who lost their jobs or were victims of racial attacks will be airlifted back to their homeland, the head of a relief organization says.

Vietnamese in Magdeburg have been targets of attacks by radical right-wing "skinheads," Rupert Neudeck, chairman of the Cap Anamur Committee, said Thursday.The Soviet airline Aeroflot has agreed to begin flying Vietnamese out of former East Germany, said Neudeck, whose group is made up of German doctors involved in relief work.
