A nun chased the "devil" out of a city-run haunted house where he was trying to convince children to sell their souls.

The haunted house featured a room where the devil asked children to sign over their souls while a "lost soul" implored them to resist.A Roman Catholic nun, Sister Jeanne McGue of the Gary Diocese, mobilized priests to complain about the setup after she read about it in a newspaper.

"Granted, Halloween is supposed to be fun, but we have to draw the line," she said. "This is not child's play."

Parks Superintendent Richard Gomez said he closed the devil's room to avoid controversy, agreeing the idea might have been wrong for the most impressionable youngsters.
