A Farmington man died instantly Wednesday morning when he was struck from behind while riding his bicycle on the I-15 frontage road in Centerville, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

Killed in the accident was:Stephan J. Bown, 35, 1093 W. 1060 North.

UHP Trooper John Mitchell identified the driver of the car as Trudi Zippro, 26, also of Farmington.

The accident occurred about 6:45 a.m. when both Bown and Zippro were southbound on the frontage road from Farmington to Centerville, said Mitchell.

He said Zippro's attention was apparently distracted momentarily and her vehicle struck Bown from behind. Mitchell estimated Zippro was driving about 55 mph at the time.

Bown was thrown from his bicycle, suffering head and upper torso injuries, Mitchell said. THe UHP investigation is continuing and no citations have been issued.
