Vernon "Bun" Calvin Mills, 77, died Tuesday, October 30, 1990 at his daughters home in Salem, after a long illness.

He was born on June 11, 1913 in Crumpler, West Virginia, the son of Charles Henry Mills and Callie Ann McCrickard Mills. He married Nada Iona Thomas, November 11, 1937, in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, February 11, 1953. He worked in coal mines in Price; and also for Trojan Powder Company in Spanish Fork, where he retired. He operated a farm and was a cattleman in Lake Shore. He served as Justice of the Peace for the Spanish Fork Precinct for 20 years, from 1967-1987.Survivors include his wife of Spanish Fork; one son and three daughters, Mrs. Boyd (Deanna) Hanks, Salem; Vernon Brent and Arlene Mills, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Jim (Carolyn) Rigtrup, Lake Shore; Mrs. Mike (Marolyn) Condie, Sandy; 17 grandchildren, two grandsons currently serving a LDS mission; four great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Vera M. Batchelor, Kearns. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Mills; and one sister, Lucille M. Griffiths.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Spanish Fork 12th LDS Ward Chapel, 305 East Center. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. or Saturday at the Ward Relief Society room, 9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
