Donald (Don) Carl Plott, 70, passed away October 30, 1990 at a Salt Lake care center, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born April 27, 1920 in Murray, Utah, to Donald Carl and Maybelle Crowther Plott. He married Jeanne Norton, February 16, 1940. Member LDS Church. Veteran World War II, serving in the 803rd Tank Destroyer Battalion. Member DAV and American Legion. Served as vice commander, American Legion Dept. of Utah and commander of Post #71. Worked for the Utah State Department of Agriculture as a propane inspector and Deputy Fire Marshal, until his retirement. He loved his family and friends and all of his nephews and nieces. Very proficient fisherman. Loved the outdoors and metal detecting.He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanne, son, Bruce Lynn and his wife, Susan Jane, four grandchildren, Mrs. Douglas (Holly) Maxfield, Donnie, Katie, Julia Plott, one great-grandchild, Douglas Gage Maxfield, all of Salt Lake City; sister, Mrs. Raymond (Arlene) Lark, West Lake, Ohio. Preceded in death by his parents, and dear sister, Shirley.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him and will be missed by all who loved him so much. Special thanks to the medical staff at the V.A. Hospital and all others that helped him during the last months.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 5, 1990, 2 p.m., at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Sunday, 6-8 p.m. and Monday, one hour prior to services.Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
