The Thetford Institute, a human resource consulting firm, and Charter Summit Hospital of Murray are co-sponsoring a drug-free workplace seminar.

"Establishing and Maintaining a Drug-Free Workplace: Federal and State Requirements and Workplace Realities" will be held Friday, Nov. 2, at the Salt Lake City Embassy Suites Hotel, 600 S. West Temple, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.In 1988, Congress passed the Drug Free Workplace Act. The act requires organizations with $25,000 or more in federal contracts of grants to comply with certain rules and reporting mandates in establishing and maintaining a drug-free workplace. It also requires compliance before payment can be made on the grant or contract. Violations can result in loss of contracts and being barred from future contracts.

The seminar includes a continental breakfast, lunch and breaks. Cost is $119 and can be paid by check to the Thetford Institute, P.O. Box 11415, Salt Lake City 84147. Registration at the seminar will be allowed starting at 7 a.m., and contingent on space being available. For more information, call 1 (800) 332-3444 or 561-8181.
