A 17-year-old girl with a broken arm, broken ankle and other injuries suffered when her car ran off the road crawled for three days before passing motorists finally spotted her.
Jean Anne Kelleher underwent surgery this week in a Shreveport hospital following her ordeal in which she also suffered dehydration, exposure, multiple cuts and bruises.Kelleher was spotted Tuesday afternoon by Leona and Hart Clawson of Jefferson, Texas, when they saw her beside the road and called Caddo Parish deputies for help.
Kelleher was driving home Saturday night when she swerved to avoid a deer on state Highway 2, ran into a densely wooded area near Oil City and was thrown from the car, said her mother, Debra Kelleher.
Mrs. Kelleher and her husband, Harold, reported their daughter missing Sunday and started searching for her. She said the family drove past the area where Jean Anne's car was wrecked more than 10 times while searching for her.
A tree broken by the impact covered the car, deputies said.
