An intelligent car stereo has been developed to provide motorists with the music they want, reports Automotive Electronics Journal.

The stereo has 4,500 AM and 4,900 FM radio stations stored in its system, and the unit is programmed for stations in more than 5,100 U.S. cities. When a radio station is chosen, the unit displays its call letters, city and state of origin and programming format. The user can program the unit to tune in rock, classical, jazz, easy-listening or country-western music, or all-talk stations.
