Mountain View Hospital is planning an $8.7 million expansion.
"This project will continue our efforts to provide state-of-the-art medical services to our area," said hospital administrator Stephen L. Walston.The first phase of the two-year project will begin with a groundbreaking ceremony Nov. 8. The public is invited, beginning at 9 a.m. A model of the complete project will be on display.
The first phase will include an emergency room, a 14-bed pediatric unit and a 12-bed intensive care unit. There will be an upgrading of technology and equipment as well.
Phase Two includes additional operating rooms, an expansion of same-day surgery and the renovation of the maternity and obstetric area.
