President Reagan hinted he might pardon former national security adviser John Poindexter and White House aide Oliver North, The Washington Post reported Wednesday. Two congressmen present at the president's closed March 22 meeting with GOP congressional members on Capitol Hill told the Post that Reagan made the suggestion at the end of the meeting. They said Rep. Henry Hyde, R-Ill., suggested the president should consider signing pardons for Poindexter and North toward the end of his term next January, "if nothing more significant happens."
