David J. Comer of Springville has been named to chair the department of electrical and computer engineering at Brigham Young University.
Comer replaces Douglas M. Chabries, who accepted an appointment in August as assistant to the academic vice president for computing.A nine-year BYU faculty member, Comer taught at California State at Chico, University of Calgary, University of Idaho and California State at San Jose.
