Granite District's Churchill Junior High School has won the 1990 State Champion Physical Fitness Award in Category III, an annual presentation by the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

Winning schools must score at least 85 percent on test items in the President's Challenge. The fitness test measures heart-lung endurance, muscular strength and endurance, speed and agility.The school receives an official certificate of recognition and each student who met the national standards receives a state champion emblem.
