Dorothy Ridd Larson, age 80, died October 29, 1990 in a Salt Lake hospital.

Born January 19, 1910 in Salt Lake City to James Newton Ridd and Phoebe Ann Wolstenholme Ridd. Married Stern V. Larson on September 1, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Graduated from LDS High School in 1928. She worked for the Granite School District and Utah State Board of Education as a data-processing key punch supervisor. She was president of Granite School District Secretaries Association and was recognized by the Utah Public Employees Association for the "Courtesy Is Contagious Award". Throughout her life she served her church in the Relief Society, Junior Sunday School and the Young Women's program. She was a former member of University of Utah Mother's Club, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Utah Association for Women, and was a voting-district vice-chairperson of Utah Republican Party. She served as a volunteer at St. Mark's Hospital.

Survived by husband, Stern Larson; daughter, Mrs. Douglas J. (Ann) Van Sickle of San Diego, California; daughter-in-law, Honey J. Larson, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by son, L. Ridd Larson. Also surviving are grandchildren, James Ridd Larson, West Yellowstone, Montana; Alix, Mark and Jonathan Van Sickle of San Diego; nieces, Ruth Ann Kirk of Richland, Washington; and Sharon Viola Hall of Seattle, Washington.

Funeral services on Friday, November 2, at 11 a.m., Valley View 2nd Ward, 4395 South Albright Drive (2145 East). Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple on Thursday evening, 6-8 p.m., and at the ward on Friday, one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
