A Salt Lake boy was listed in stable but serious condition Monday at Primary Children's Medical Center after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run accident while playing on the lawn in a residential neighborhood.

Seven-year-old Stewart Bradley, 2313 S. 2200 East, was hit at approximately 3:30 p.m. by a brown car driven by an unidentified woman who was apparently southbound on Oneida Street (2150 East), police said.Salt Lake Police Lt. Ken Thirsk said the woman apparently lost control of her vehicle while trying to make a right turn.

The woman's car jumped the street, went around a couple of trees and hit the boy squarely. A girl who was with the boy was able to avoid being hit.

After striking the child, the car crashed into a parked pickup truck, crossed the street again and hit a tree.

Police were searching for the driver who left the scene on foot.
