Vice President Dan Quayle will stop in Utah County Thursday, Nov. 1, to campaign for Republican 3rd District congressional candidate Karl Snow.
Air Force Two will touch down at the Provo Municipal Airport shortly before 1 p.m. The vice president will speak at Utah Valley Community College in Orem at 1 p.m, according to Stephen M. Studdert, Snow's campaign chairman. The public is invited to attend what the Snow campaign is calling "a good old-fashioned political rally" at the college, which will include an address by Quayle. The rally will be held in the college's Activity Center.
Although the rally is free, members of the public will need admission tickets for security reasons. Tickets are available at the college, through the Young Republicans at Brigham Young University and at the Snow Campaign headquarters in Provo. Doors to the Activity Center will open at 11 a.m.
"The trip to Utah Valley by the Vice President is the first for a sitting vice president in nearly 20 years," Studdert said. "This is a moment of history and we want everyone to come and be a part of it."
Studdert said President Bush asked Snow during a trip to Washington if he wanted the vice president to visit.
"We are honored he has chosen Utah County," Studdert said.
