The New Voices of Salt Lake meet the second Tuesday of each month at the Utah Division office of the American Cancer Society, 610 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Meetings begin at noon and run until 1:30 p.m.
The purpose of the club is to provide support, information and socialization to those who have had laryngectomies and other head and neck patients who have undergone a change in voice or facial appearance. Spouses and friends are welcome to attend.Guest speakers are frequently featured, and a newsletter is published monthly. The club provides a literature packet and has a number of artificial larynxes that can be loaned out. Upon request, patients will be directed to health-care professionals in the area who specialize in treatment and rehabilitation of laryngectomized individuals.
