Stanley Dickinson, 64, died October 26, 1990, in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, England, following a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma.

Born April 27, 1926 in Ashton-under-Lyne to Stanley and Edith Walker Dickinson.Educated in England and worked there in public education He moved to Salt Lake City in 1953. during the following 36 years, he made many friends and acquaintances who enjoyed his association. He worked for H. J. Heinz Co., for several local architectural firms, and was a long time employee of the State of Utah.

He enjoyed golf, squash and the outdoors. He was an avid reader and very talented in theatrical productions and in music.

He was a member of the LDS Church, served a mission in the alaskan-Canadian Mission, served in the bishopric of the Salt Lake 13th Ward, and held numerous other positions in the church.

He returned to England in 1989 where his sister, Margaret Windsor, and her family cared for him during his illness.

He is survived by his sister and her husband, Dick; brother, Herbert Dickinson and his wife Joan, all of Lancashier, England; and by nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in Ashton-under-Lyne Friday, November 2, 1990. A memorial services will be held in Salt Lake City at 12 noon on Tuesday, October 30, 1990, at the Ensign 3rd-4th Ward Chapel, 9th Avenue and K. Street.
