William Reed Brinkerhoff, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away October 26, 1990 at a Salt Lake nursing home.
He was born May 13, 1914 at Huntington, Utah. He married Nina Peterson in the LDS Manti Temple on November 25, 1938.He is survived by his wife; their daughter, Karen (Mrs. Robert W.) Lee; five grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
In his early years he was with the Forest Service, worked in his father's blacksmith shop, and mined coal. During World War II, he was in defense production with Eitel-McCullough in Salt Lake City (1941-1946). When the company closed for a few years after the war, he became a radio repairman with Croft Radio (1946-49). He returned to Eimac in 1949, where he was a manager of facilities and services until his retirement in 1976.
He was a High Priest in his church and, during his retirement years in LaVerkin, Utah (1976-84), was ward clerk, and a temple worker in the St. George LDS Temple. They returned to Salt Lake in 1984.
His favorite hobbies were fishing, electronics, including CB Radio, mechanics, and gardening.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held 11 a.m., Monday, October 29, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy. Cannon Mortuary, funeral directors.
