Former Utah County Republican Chairman Wayne Watson will be without a driver's license for one year for refusing to take a breath test.

Bart Blackstock, of the State Drivers License Division, said on the recommendation of Watson's hearing officer, his license has been revoked for one year effective Oct. 15.Blackstock said Watson, who has a local law practice, will have no driving privileges during the suspension.

Watson refused to take a breath test in August after being stopped by Utah County sheriff's deputies in American Fork Canyon. The deputies said Watson was arrested after trying to avoid a roadblock.

Watson resigned as Utah County Republican Party chairman shortly after his arrest.
