It's time again for the annual Turkey Days promotion in Sugar House with free turkey, candy, food and a guessing contest with prizes.

Sponsored by the Sugar House Chamber of Commerce, the 44th annual Turkey Days will be held Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 2, 3, 5 and 6. William Rowe, committee chairman, said 100 turkeys will be given away via a drawing and participating merchants will distribute coupons for 5, 10 and 20-pound turkeys to customers who make purchases.One shopper who guesses how many pounds of turkey will be given away will win twin man's and woman's Pulsar watches.

Food wagons near Granite Furniture and Deseret Industries parking lots will sell hot dogs and drinks for 25 cents on Saturday. Westminster College students dressed as a turkey, an Indian and a Pilgrim will distribute candy to children.

The event started at the monthly chamber meeting when a representative of Norbest Turkeys distributed free turkey roasts, barbecue aprons, hats and coupons to members.

Besides Rowe, members of the committee are Duncan Williamson, Douglas Engh, Robert Paull, Craig Johnson, John Walton, Donald Sevy, Rick Delamare, Donald Sutherland, Michael Runyon, Margot Kadesch, Thomas Rockwood, Gary Lloyd, Barry Bank, Jason Haskell, Marc McDonald, Wayne Tonge, and Michael Huntsman.

Lester G. Reese, chamber president, also is a committee member.
