Kristie Nattress will represent Utah Valley Community College as Miss UVCC.
The 19-year-old elementary-education major competed with 10 other UVCC students to win the title. As Miss UVCC, Nattress will compete in the Miss Utah pageant in June.Natress hopes to teach music to elementary school students. She played Grieg's "Concerto in A Minor" on the piano for the talent part of the contest.
First runner-up in the contest is Karen P. Lynch, 21, who would like to be an anchorwoman on a news program. For the talent portion of the contest, she danced. Lynch is from Jamaica.
Emily Morrey, 18, of Orem, the second runner-up, plans to major in broadcast journalism. She is a dancer, performing a ballet number for the talent contest.
