Gladys Mott Wood, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully October 24, 1990 at her daughters home in Bennion, surrounded by loved ones and friends. We find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her daughters, Glynda Hansen and Marcia Wood and her husband of 53 years, W. Fred Wood. Her brave battle with cancer is behind her.

The second child of a close-knit family of thirteen, Gladys was born August 25, 1916 in La Jara, Colorado to J. Elmer and Annie Prudence Coombs Mott. She married Fred, March 7, 1937 in Nortonville, Colorado. Their marriage was solemnized in the LDS Temple in 1956. Gladys was active in all the auxiliary organizations of the LDS Church and served a stake mission with her husband.She is survived by her children, Freda Squires, Gordon and Jan Wood, Myrna and Ernie Floyd; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who love their grandma and will miss her very much. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Louis and Dwayne Mott and Wilma Horton all of La Jara, Colorado; Harvey Mott, Thatcher, Arizona; Lyle Mott, Layton; Gary Mott, Kaysville; Ken Mott, Bountiful; Jewell Fox, Ethel Hafen, Jackie Mott and Troy Mott, all of Provo. She was preceded in death by brother, Gene Mott.

Funeral services for Gladys will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at the Bennion Heights 5th Ward, 5775 South 2700 West. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m., Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, and Monday, one hour prior to services at the church. Burial: Redwood Memorial Estates.
