Sterling Blair, age 77, died Wednesday, October 24, 1990.

He was born March 12, 1913 at Butlerville, Utah; to Parley and Ivy Dean Cowley Blair. He married Laura Young, March 2, 1936 at Layton, Utah. Reared and educated in Salt Lake City. Mr. Blair served in the U.S. Navy as a SeaBee during World War II. He also served in the C.C.C. For many years he worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. He lived in Hawaii, Millbrae, California, where he was service manager for General Motors for 15 years. He came to St. George in 1978. His hobbies include golfing, metal sculpturing and gardening. He was a member of the LDS Church.Surviving family members include his wife, Laura; one brother and six sisters, Harold W. Blair, Sandy; Mrs. LaMar (Helen) Knudsen, Cottonwood; Mrs. Deloy (Dorothy) Evans, Santa Clara, Utah; Mrs. Shand (Erma) Knudsen, St. George; Mrs. Ralph (Pearl) Orgil, Ely, Nevada; Mrs. Grace Oliver, St. George; and Mrs. Robert (Glenden) Coope, Cottonwood.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 27, 1990 at 1 p.m. at the Mountain View Estates, 3115 East 7800 So. Salt Lake City, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
