The University of Oregon isn't very grateful toward the Grateful Dead. The band won't be allowed to play at the school's Autzen Stadium next year because officials are concerned about drug use among the "Dead heads." The decision comes despite the $200,000 that the university's athletic department reaped from letting the Dead perform in the stadium during the summer. The school said there is no permanent ban on Dead concerts but "we don't want it become an annual or regular event" because a significant number of people see the band's appearance at a university facility as an indication that the school condones drug abuse.
