LaMont "Monte" Cundick, age 83, died October 22, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born December 16, 1906 in West Jordan, Utah; to Charles and Zuretta Eliza Palmer Cundick. Mr. Cundick was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a motel owner and operator, an office and small appliance repairman and worked in maintenance and repair.He married Marguerite Bowman in the Salt Lake Temple, on June 28, 1928; they later divorced. They had three sons, Richard LaMont Cundick, Reno, Nevada; Melvin Cundick, who died as a child; and Donald Bowman Cundick, Roseburg, Oregon. He married Beth S. Pruitt in 1952; this marriage gave him one step-daughter, Peggy Pruitt Gunder, Bakersfield, California; Beth died in 1964. He married Maurine Rigby VanDam, September 9, 1981 in the Manti Temple. His step-sons from this marriage are David Noel VanDam, New Orleans, Louisanna; Marc Edward VanDam, Moccasin, Arizona; also surviving are grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Monte has lived in Moccasin, Arizona since August of 1987 where he has been active in the Kaibab Ward as a High Priest. He was especially known for his dedication and joy in temple service.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 26, 1990 at 1 p.m. (Arizona time) in the Kaibab Ward Chapel; where friends may call Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Burial in the Moccasin Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
