Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lucille Bjornn Crowther, 86, died October 20, 1990 at her home in Holladay.
She was born May 23, 1904 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Theodore Conrad and Mimi Torgerson Bjornn. She married George Lester Crowther on July 14, 1924 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died September 28, 1951.She lived her life in Price, Utah; Pocatello, Idaho; and Sugarhouse and Holladay, Utah. Most of her life was dedicated to service of church and community. She served as a member and officer in the PTA, Lady Lion's Club, and Business and Professional Women. She and her husband were the owners and founders of the Salt Lake Times Printing and Publishing Company. She served as President or in the presidencies in the Relief Society and MIA of the church. Most of all, she will be remembered for her devoted service to her family and the unconditional love she had for everyone. She will be missed by us all.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Norma) Smead, Aptos, California; Mrs. H.R. (Evelyn) Wagstaff, Holladay, Utah; three sons, George L. Crowther, Semi Valley, California; Bruce B. Crowther and Craig S. Crowther, both of Sandy, Utah; 27 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Evelyn Place, Sunnyville, California; two brothers, Clarence Bjornn, Bountiful; Lloyd Bjornn, Salt Lake City. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jackman; a grandson, Todd Crowther; brothers, Rudolph, Glenn, and Gordon Bjornn.
Funeral services will be Thursday October 25, 1990 at 1 p.m. in the Holladay LDS 18th Ward, 2625 East Milo Way, (4910 South). Friends may call at the MacKay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
