Alden Barber Thornley, age 71, died October 21, 1990 of cancer at his home in Salt Lake City.

Born April 1, 1919 in Layton, Utah to Ivan John and Irene Gertrude Barber Thornley. Married Catherine Browning Bugger on October 2, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active in the LDS Church holding many different positions and was High Priest group leader at the time of his death. Veteran of U.S.Army serving in the European Theater during World War II. Former resident of Ogden, Utah. Retired in 1984 from American Linen Corporation after 39 years in sales and management.Survived by his wife; mother; two sons and a daughter, Alden (wife Carolyn) Thornley of Carlsbad, New Mexico; Brad B. (wife Barbara) Thornley of Salt Lake; and Coleen (husband Robert) Wolters, of Salt Lake; three grandchildren; a brother, Gary Thornley; and a sister, Beth Murdock.

Funeral services Thursday, October 25th, at 11 a.m., Monument Park 8th Ward Chapel, 1774 South Texas Street (2390 East). Friends may call at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South on Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. and at the Ward on Thursday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Kaysville City Cemetery.
