Three public hearings will precede the City Council's regular meeting tonight.
The council will meet as the Redevelopment Agency for a public hearing at 6 p.m. on a proposal to create a 17-acre redevelopment district on the west side of U.S. 89 between 100 North and 350 North. This is the site of the K mart store currently under construction.The second hearing, which will begin at 6:45 p.m., is on the initiative to remove sales tax from food. The third hearing, which will begin at 7:20 p.m., will discuss declaring a variety of items surplus property.
During its regular meeting, which will begin after the third public hearing, the council will present the yard-of-the-month awards. It will also consider selection of a new president of the American Fork Ambulance Association, and review the draft plan for the proposed redevelopment district.
Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 31 N. Church St.
