Israeli soldier run down by an Arab taxi driver in the West Bank 18 months ago died of his injuries on Friday and was buried, an army spokesman said. Nir Biton, who was buried in Israel's military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, remained unconscious in the hospital after being injured.

The spokesman said an Arab taxi driver in Nablus, in the West Bank, deliberately ran down Nir and another soldier during a patrol in February 1987. The patrol's commander shot dead the driver, the spokesman added.
