If you are hosting a party and busy with munchies, music and mingling, snapping pictures gets lost in the shuffle. Konica USA now has a still camera that automatically takes photos in response to party sounds.
When set in its sound-activation mode, The Kanpai - Japanese for "cheers" - listens for laughter. With a motorized connector, it rotates on a tripod and pans randomly for the next shot. The Kanpai's sound indicator can be raised or lowered depending on the type of party.
It has a lot of good features like date-time imprinting on each photo. Trouble is, it responds to sounds other than laughter. You may want to put a lampshade over this one.
The Kanpai is $216. Call 1 (800) MY-KONICA for a dealer near you.
