Utah Valley Community College will host a free family carnival Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The theme for the carnival is "Natural Highs from A through Z: Fun Alternatives to Substance Abuse." The carnival is part of the national campaign against drug use.Family members will have "hands-on experience" with 26 alternative ways to get high. Examples are dancing, photography, insect collecting and arts and crafts.

The carnival is sponsored by UVCC, the Utah County Department of Substance Abuse and Wasatch Mental Health.
